Note: The 08 Feb 1981 race was held at the Yomiuri site and for even years thereafter; the 01 Mar 1981 race was held at the Sankei site and for odd years thereafter. It is not known how long this alternating site arrangement continued.  The first woman to finish in 2011 was Tatyana Aryasova (RUS), but she was later disqualified for using a banned substance. The race was incorporated into the World Marathon Majors program beginning in 2013.
