Notes: 1977 was the inaugural year. This race was known as the Northern Lights Marathon for 1977 and was held in Hanmer, the Rainbow Country Marathon for 1978, and the Voyageur Marathon from 1979 and through 1995. For 1978-1983 and 1985, the race was held in Sudbury. For 1984 and 1986, the race was held in Espanola, about 65 km WSW of Sudbury. The race has been held in Massey from 1987 to date and has been known as the Friendly Massey Marathon from 1996 to date.
